The Vice President, Global Market Access is responsible for the development and execution of global pricing and market access strategies, aligned with corporate strategies. This includes leading the price setting, implementation and monitoring processes, as well as the reimbursement strategy & execution for ObsEva’s product portfolio.

In order to achieve this, the incumbent shall work cross-functionally with internal departments (clinical, regulatory, medical & commercial) and external resources (agencies, KOLs, patient groups).

This position requires strategic vision as well as strong operational skills.


  • Develop and execute a profit & patient access maximizing market access strategy for each product including price setting, contracting approach (if relevant), reimbursement strategy at the global, regional & affiliate level through an active partnership with clinical, medical & marketing;
  • Gain critical input from KOLs, health authorities, patient organizations & politicians (as needed) to test and refine our pricing & reimbursement strategies;
  • Define & oversee the development of the health economic dimension of the access strategy including HTA & Budget Impact models, global & local value dossiers;
  • Develop global tools to support payer negotiations;
  • Direct & support affiliates in adapting the global tools – health economic data and model, budget impact model, value dossier, negotiation tools – to the local needs;
  • Support the Country Manager in local access negotiations as the Market Access expert;
  • Monitor the execution of the access negotiations across markets, as well as the gross & net price evolution;
  • Provide the market access input in the development teams through project team membership – ensuring the right end points are included, providing price assumptions, HEOR data gathering requirements, …;
  • Accountable for providing the access elements (price, reimbursement, value arguments) in the TPP;
  • Establish, manage and maintain successful relations with relevant health authorities, key opinion leaders (KOLs), government agencies and officials, as well as patient and industry associations; point of contact for KOLs, government and payers;
  • Define, build, lead, and develop the Market Access organization in alignment with the global commercial strategy;
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding affiliate needs for market access resource requirements;
  • Design and execute programs for Market Access Excellence to increase market access capabilities in future affiliate organizations and health economics;
  • Manage, coach and mentor direct reports, if any;
  • Perform other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.



  • Minimum of 15 years of market access experience, preferably in multi functional pharmaceutical environment – experience in women’s health a plus
  • Deep operational level insight into the market access systems of the main markets – France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, US
  • Deep knowledge of key market access strategy components – health technology assessment & economic models, budget impact, value dossiers, price/volume trade-offs, innovative contracting – ability to direct any external consultant effectively
  • Strong preference for individual with prior experience in actual access negotiations in any of these core markets
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and external factors impacting market access
  • Proven success in project management delivering high quality output on time
  • Excellent computer skills

  • M.S. or equivalent in Business or Finance or any related field
  • Fluency in English (working language)
